Because a man cannot live on Cowadooritos alone, here's a thread for all your neckbeard elfgame needs. Doesn't matter if you're a total newfag who's only played Dildos & Downies or a seasoned greybeard who can quote every rule of GURPS from memory. All games are welcome*.

Let's get the ball rolling. What's your favorite game, if any? What would you be interested in playing?

*Except Pathfinder. Fuck that shit.

What is wrong with Pathfinder? My friends talked it up and made it seem like a great team-strategy game.

I haven't played any roll-the-dice super-descriptive-character-design board-on-the-basement-table games (because I didn't know there were that many), but D&D would be dope to wet my feet with. My closest experience would have to be Dark Souls II, lmao.

What is YOUR favorite game? (so I can google it)

HOO BOY let's run the list, shall we?

-It's a retread of D&D 3.5, meaning that instead of learning from its mistakes (like 4e) they went right back to them, and added their own.
-The weapons are all samey and redundant.
-Feats range from "mildly useful" to "worth less than a used condom". Trap options galore, only a handful ever amount to shit. Especially true of martial classes.
-Related to the above, you depend on your hoard of magic items to shine, making your character less a character and more a walking armory and a list of magical effects. Again, this is especially true of martial classes.
-Sean K- Reynolds.
-The shitforbrains in charge didn't even pretend to want to have a semblance of class balance, resulting in gross discrepancies of power between classes that renders some of them outright worthless and a waste of wordcount. You guessed it, martial classes are hit the worst.
-Still uses the retarded alignment system.
-In case it's not clear by now, if you're a martial class your life sucks. The game is clearly made for bathrobe faggots.
-Sean K. Reynolds.
-The setting is a hideous clusterfuck of setting concepts that clash wildly with each other and have no organic interactions because the drooling mongoloids in charge put no thought to how they would interact with each other.
-The imbeciles in charge are not just incompetent in every single facet of game design and writing, they're also insufferable cunts.
-The fucktards fanbase are hardly better.
-The art is ugly and overloaded.
-Sean K. Reynolds.
-I don't like it.

That's what 4e is there for, son. Pigfucker is probably the worst possible choice of a gateway game.

Haha, sorry to break it to you, but like Nekro said, Pathfinder is the ultimate baby casual game for people who don't know shit about tabletop RPGs.
(Gotta love how Xin always says the exact wrong thing and has bad taste in any given thing. Music, anime, etc.)

Also, not all of tabletop RPGs are D&D, keep that in mind if you have any interest in the medium. I originally had no interest in tabletop RPGs because I was under the (very false) impression that D&D was the only one that existed.
I was very wrong about that, there are countless different tabletop RPGs, of any setting you can imagine, and far more that you can't. Probably many of your favorite books, anime, films, or comics have tabletop RPG versions of their setting, so you can make your own fanwankfan-fiction types of games.
There's sci-fi games, horror games, mythological fantasy, modern fantasy.. there's every kind of setting. You can even make your own setting and just use a general-use system for it. The game doesn't even have to be about fighting at all, it can be entirely about being an investigator, or it can be an entirely social game that's all about interacting with other characters. It doesn't have to have dice, there are many systems that involve other means of deciding outcomes of skill rolls (for example, I've heard of people using the game "Jenga" instead of rolling dice). You don't even need a stat/skill system, and a good way to start into tabletop RPGs is to just go ahead and roleplay as a character with your friend without needing any kind of stats (though the stats DO add a fun element to it).

If you can dream it, you can play it in a tabletop RPG. We've actually tried (...and failed) a couple times to organize an SPB RPG, where we all were going to make stats for our characters and roleplay them. Maybe we'll take another crack at organizing an SPB tabletop RPG sometime soon.

Just saying, don't get too stuck on the idea of D&D. D&D, especially Pathfinder, is boring generic-fantasy dog shit. It bores me out of my mind. I hate generic orcs-and-elves fantasy. It's a watered-down version of Tolkein fantasy, which is already pretty boring itself, for the most part. You can play a tabletop RPG about anything, why waste your time on something as boring and lame as D&D? The only limitation is what you and your friends can think up.
